It is funny how we can be so busy sometimes and then discover that we feel like we have done almost nothing afterwards.
There
was a cool district meeting this week with the district (it was our
last time together before some of them were transferred). I don't know
if I mentioned what The Magic Chair is, but it goes as follows: one
person in the group sits on the magic chair and each person in the group
goes around and says something they admire about that person and what
they wish that person knew. Then the next person is up and so forth
until everyone has been embarrassingly complimented to the ground.
Although it is awkward to be the one in the chair, I'll be honest, you
feel so good afterward! It is a great unifiying activity that I'll probably use every once in a while in my own future family.
Talking
about unity, it is so important! I think the introduction of technology
into our mission is cool because of the doctrine and principles we are
learning from the experience. "Be One" is a Safeguard they are teaching
us to apply when using our iPads, which is a super cool topic to study. I
feel like as missionaries learn to be more unified and ONE (which seems
to be the most important number in the gospel), we will better be able
to live a higher law of consecration someday. There are wonderful things
happening through this stuff!!
The iPads are cool. It is fun to do Duolingo for language study.
We
are still trying to get back into contact with our friend who wanted to
be baptized. Sometimes things spontaneously come up and we are left in
the dark for some reason. That is definitely out of the ordinary for
her, so we're really wondering what is up.
It
continues to amaze me that some members do not understand certain
doctrines of the church, such as reincarnation. My recommendation: when
missionaries come to you or bring you with them to teach one of their
investigator friends, if you happen to believe that we are reborn into
this world for another chance, please keep that belief to yourself. Then
find out the truth by reading the scriptures, pondering, and praying
about the answers you find.
We are going to play soccer today with the international ward. Soccer P-days are always super fun!
Liebe Grüße,
Elder Jack
