This week we had something called "Tag der offenen Tür" at our
church. This ward does this open house twice a year, the week before
general conference. It is really an awesome opportunity to get
information out to the public in a very nonaggressive way. It was
expected of the members that they would invite friends and family and
would come themselves to support the effort. There were some ver
interested people (two of them are a family with cute children!) with
whom we were able to explain a lot about the church and the
beliefs and bore powerful testimony. The Spirit was very strong in
testifying to these people. The members who followed up on their
responsibility were very pleased with what happened with their friends. I
am excited to further meet with these people and help them because they
have very evident and sincere interest to find out more. Questions?
Bitte schön! Ask away! I am just so excited to meet with them!! Whooo!
Thank goodness for a very dedicated, powerful, and loving ward mission
leader. He has helped a ton!
Priesthood is like
an Umbrella. I liked hearing that thought yesterday. It's an umbrella
in that it covers both a man and a woman, but the man is given the task
to hold it.
General Conference! This weekend.
Prophet, Apostles, revelation, listening, and finding answers. Just a
reminder to put thought into what we want to get out of the conference
for these inspired leaders! It's a great opportunity to show people what
the prophet says!
We have a very humble and
loving investigator who needed self-esteem help. She's incredible. She
does her reading assignments and when we meet She is Proud of Herself!!
That is so good to see and hear because it is something we did not see
in her the first time we met. She also introduced her son to us and we
will be meeting with him. I am so excited to teach this 14 year old
about the restored gospel of Jesus Christ! He's going to love this
stuff!!! As a funny old member in the ward said after meeting with her,
"Once we get the son, we'll get the mother!" Well, I think there is more
to it than that, but I agree whole-heatedly that the family should
learn and progress in the gospel together. It will help them
unimaginably much!
A mission is great! Serve!!!
Alles gute!
Liebe Grüße,
Elder Jack
