July 13, 2015

We went on a couple companionship exchanges this week, which is always fun. I got to be with a really new Elder in the mission and be a hopefully good example to him in the field. He is off to a great start with his desire to improve and do what is asked of him. I was on another one in an area where I had never been before. It was a blast to see the difference between the city-life style attitude of Frankfurt compared to the slower, more apt to listen lifestyle in a smaller city called Langen. The people there were really open and even those who weren't were at least friendly about it and invited us to try talking to the neighbors. What a difference!

We also had zone training this week in which we talked about the unique message of the Restored Gospel of Jesus Christ. It is unique! And if someone is truly willing to learn about it they will see and feel that. As part of the zone training, we watched the movie "Joseph Smith: Prophet of the Restoration," which is a great movie. Obviously not everything could be included to the minute details of his life, but it does well in capturing the hardships he faced and the strength he had to have to press forward.

We are working with sweet families in the ward and instead of us just sharing a nice little message with them, we have had them teach us the message of the Restoration as if they were missionaries. These members rock! They are really good teachers, but the best part every time is when they bear testimony of what they have taught. When pretending to be an investigator, that is the part that sticks out the most. It is the though of, "They really believe in this and are happy because of it." Well, my friends, that is because it is truth. And it is good.

See ya'll next month!

Liebe Grüße,
Elder Jack
